The handpan is an absolutely beginner-friendly instrument where percussion and melody meet. Playing the handpan creates soothing, ethereal, and long-lasting soundscapes that completely captivate both the player and the listener. Neither previous experience nor knowledge of music theory is required, as all tones on the handpan are based on a fixed scale. With most models, it's impossible to play notes that sound "wrong." Therefore, you can follow your own intuition while playing and lose yourself in mysterious, dreamy melodies in no time.

Sela Harmony Phoenix Steel Handpans are handcrafted from a special, extremely durable stainless steel. Their sustain lies between that of nitrided steel handpans (Melody and Harmony series) and stainless steel models (Harmony Stainless Steel and Majesty). This particularly balanced sustain and warm, controlled sound make Phoenix Steel handpans truly multi-talented, suitable for both slow and meditative play and fast and percussive play. They thus offer the best of both worlds and are also relatively easy to care for, as the steel alloy is well-protected against external influences such as hand sweat and dirt. During production, our Phoenix Steel models receive a beautiful bronze-colored finish.

Unlike other Sela handpans, the new Harmony handpans made from Phoenix Steel have ten tonal fields instead of the usual nine. This opens up even more playing possibilities for a wide variety of melodies. The D Kurd tuning (fundamental frequency 440 Hz) is one of our best-selling scales. The central note in the middle of the handpan is D3, around which the notes A3, Bb3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4, and C5 are arranged in a circle. Practical: An overview of the scale with the individual tonal fields is lasered into the underside of the handpan. With its bright-sounding D minor scale, this handpan is just as suitable for spiritual activities such as yoga, meditation, and sound baths as it is for playing with other handpans or other instruments such as tongue drums, guitar, or percussion.

Each Sela handpan comes with a bag made of tear-resistant nylon fabric, which, thanks to its well-padded interior, provides optimal protection during transport. It can be comfortably carried either by hand using the two handles or as a backpack using the adjustable shoulder straps. A practical outer compartment offers enough space for small accessories like a metronome.
